TELEPHONE
The telephone number in Athens, Georgia, is 706-549-2695. (The old Atlanta number 404-351-8991 also rings in Athens.) Coach White does not own a cell phone or a pager. The message on the answering machine will usually indicate whether she is away from the phone for a short time or for many days. She typically retrieves messages and returns calls after she returns, not while she is on the road. Please be patient. Although the answering machine now includes caller identification, please supply a home telephone number each time you leave a message. The best times to call are either early in the morning or late at night during the middle of the week.

P. O. BOX 48207
ATHENS, GA 30604-8207
Be sure that the box number has 5 digits. (The Atlanta address printed on the letterhead is still active, but Coach White drives to Atlanta only once each week.) Do not send mail that requires the recipient to sign for it during desk hours at the post office. During spring and summer, Coach White is usually on the road during the day, picking up mail at night.
E-MAIL AND OTHER ELECTRONIC TRANSMISSIONS
The website has the capacity to receive E-mail. Coach White does not receive these transmissions. At present, no staff person is reading E-mail messages and delivering paper copies to Coach White. The webmaster (in Huntsville, Alabama) passes along urgent messages by telephone.
Coach White does not have the capacity to send or receive any type of E-mail or fax. In fact, Coach White does not have access to the internet. Diagnosed with advanced rheumatoid arthritis in early 2000, she cannot depend on daily use of typing skills as a means of communication. Moreover, since she travels extensively, E-mail and fax messages would pile up more quickly than telephone messages ---- with the senders totally unaware that no one is “receiving.” Carrying a laptop to check E-mail daily will never be a viable alternative. Please call the number in Athens or send “snail” mail.
NEWS ABOUT YOU AND YOUR AREA
Coach White maintains a file on each summer camper and a folder for each one-day clinic site. Mailing newspaper clippings and progress notes throughout the year keeps her informed about player accomplishments.
Several times each year Coach White needs your help! Copies of annual items from your local newspapers and websites add to her effectiveness. Please gather and mail the following items:
- Pre-season (August) regional surveys of high school and college football teams, including schedules and personnel
- Play-off news (December) & lists of All-County, All-Region, and All-State selections
- Signing day (February) information about seniors who commit to college teams
Rising juniors and seniors should furnish Coach White copies of the resumes and cover letters being sent to colleges. If you start early, she will suggest corrections and improvements. She also needs to know your Core GPA, SAT/ACT scores, and academic preferences as early as possible during the junior year.
PROFILE FOR COACH WHITE'S PLAYER LIST & MAIL FILE
When you send a resume' to a college football recruiting coordinator, you receive in the mail a profile card to complete about yourself. Even though you have already supplied much of the information, the person compiling the mailing list needs the standardization of typing from the cards. (Complete and return all cards, regardless of your interest in the college.)
For her personal use, Coach White maintains a mailing list and a detailed profile list of thousands of kickers, punters and snappers. All participants from summer camps and one-day clinics are entered from their application forms. Organized by year of graduation and then by state of residence, the list allows her to make phone calls to all players in any area she is visiting. It is also her primary source for describing prosepects to coaches. This list is not for sale and will never appear in a website or database. If you are not a former camper and you want Coach White to include you on this list, please print out the profile form, complete all requested information, and mail to the post office box listed above. Former campers and clinic participants can use this form to update Coach White on address changes, school changes, grade point average, test scores, and college contacts. There is no charge for this service.
